Anne Marie first discovered her love of pottery almost 25 years ago after watching a master potter working his wheel. To her then untrained eye, it appeared that the potter made the clay rise up almost as if by magic. She was hooked! Later she became a student of the master potter who had so inspired her, Ralph Conklin. While training under Maestro Conklin, she also began taking classes at Northwestern Michigan College, Muskegon Community College, Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, as well as attending any/all workshops in the region.

Anne spent years studying and developing a diverse understanding of the traditions of her art, but she also began early on to explore her own unique direction. The years that followed found her working in various clay mediums, all centered around her potter's wheel and kilns. Today her primary focus is functional pottery and tableware; items like wine chillers and personalized coffee/tea mugs. She is frequently asked by her clients to develop entire table settings around a chosen theme, or occasionally to produce a run of hand thrown mugs for regional businesses.

Anne says "I particularly enjoy creating items you would use every day. I choose my glazes carefully to emphasize the lines and shapes of each vessel. What I wish to convey to my friends and customers is this sense of individual hand-made quality for each piece of pottery that you use. From your morning cup of coffee in your favorite mug to that late night bowl of ice cream, I hope to impart my sense of wonder and joy in the pieces I create for you."
