20th Annual Blue Coast Artist's Fall Tour of Studios - Images from Khnemu Studio

Photography by Rob Soltysiak

1.jpg

I can't express my appreciation to friends and family who volunteered during Fall Tour.  Without their help the day would not be possible.

Thank you to all who visited, the weather was not the best but we still had a great time.

Thank you!
Dawn

The following is a brief photo diary of Fall Tour 2009 at Khnemu Studio, just one of the studios doing demonstrations during this annual event. www.bluecoastartists.com

2.jpg The weather to start the day was rainy so I had to be in the gallery talking about techniques versus doing them...bummer.

3.jpg Potter Susan Keith volunteered throwing on the potters wheel on Saturday.  She was making great MINI pottery.

4.jpg A peak into the new woodshop on the farm.

5.jpg Fire in the hole, the rain has stopped...Raku Firing begins!

5a.jpg To much moisture in the air in not good for Raku.  A day like today is not a day I would typically Raku.

5aadawnbrokenpot.jpg This pottery absorbed to much moisture as it sat outside waiting to be fired.  Wow, I haven't had a pot shatter like that in a long time.

5b.jpg With the nicer weather came the visitors.

5bb.jpg Bryce and I  Raku fired all day Saturday.

6.jpg Red hot pots and Blue Skies!

7.jpg 1800 degrees and into the reduction chamber.

8.jpg How did we do?

9.jpg I think I like it.

9a.jpg Yea, I like them.

9b.jpg Stu all decked out with pumpkins for Fall

9c.jpg Look the windmill is fixed.

9f.jpg My pumpkin girls

9g.jpg Pottery, pumpkins, popcorn and people were plentiful.

9h.jpg The checker board received a lot of use.

9i.jpg Even chickens like to play checkers.

9l.jpg Visitors enjoyed watching the wood demonstrations.

9m.jpg Chester wonders why it is so busy.

9z1.jpg Day 2 was much more windy, so we got creative with wind blocks so we could still raku

9z2.jpg Potter Chris Trabka demonstrates throwing on Sunday.  Hey Chris, thanks for the new plates and mugs.

9z6.jpg Another day of Raku

9e.jpg Windy and rainy but success!
